Installation Guide
What’s included in your speed test kit shipment?
- Cheetah Networks PE241 speed test device
- 1.5m AC power supply USB-C cord
- 1m ethernet cable
Installation instructions
- Identify a space within 1 meter of your home’s internet router/modem for the PE241 device and within 1.5 meters of a power outlet (within reach of the provided ethernet and power cables).
- Connect the ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports on your router/modem and the other end to the WAN port of the PE241 (on the far left side of the PE241).
- Plug the AC power supply into the power outlet and then insert the other small end (USB-C) into the port with the power icon above it. The device will take one to two minutes to power up.
- The green light indicates power, it will turn on when the device is powered.
- The yellow light indicates the unit is connected to your router modem. If it is flashing, it means the device is successfully connected and transmitting.
- The blue light indicates ethernet connectivity to the home router/modem. It will flash when data is being successfully transmitted.
The PE241 is now gathering speed and latency performance analytics and no further action is required.
Notes
- A yellow light beside the WAN port will flash when data is transmitting.
- The PE241 device is connected by a wired ethernet connection and does not need either its antennae or body positioned specially (like a WiFi device may need to be).
- The additional ethernet ports (LAN1-3) inputs are for functionality not being utilized for this test.
